Greetings from Ambassador Zeng Fanhua

Welcome to the website of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Independent State of Papua New Guinea!

Papua New Guinea is the largest and most populous island country in the South Pacific, with beautiful scenery and unique culture. China and Papua New Guinea enjoy a long history of friendship. Early exchanges between the two countries started more than 200 years ago. On 12 October 1976, China and PNG formally established diplomatic relations. Since then China-PNG relations have developed steadily, the long-standing friendship between the two peoples has further enhanced, and cooperation in various fields has continued to expand. In recent years, China-PNG relations have maintained vitality and continued to grow, with deepening mutual political trust and fruitful exchanges and cooperation in various fields, bringing benefits to the two countries and their peoples. In November 2018, President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Papua New Guinea and the two countries established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership featuring mutual respect and common development, opening up a new phase of rapid development for China-PNG relationship, which has become a model of exchanges between China and Pacific island countries.

The Chinese Embassy in Papua New Guinea is firmly committed to developing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, enhancing the friendship between the two peoples, to facilitate the continuous development of the China-PNG Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. We do our best to provide service and assistance to the friends in Papua New Guinea, local Chinese community and Chinese enterprises, and serve as a bridge of friendship and cooperation between China and Papua New Guinea.

Thank you for your support for China-PNG relations and the Embassy's work. Your valuable comments and suggestions on our work are genuinely welcomed.
