On April 5, Amb. Li Zhengjun presented a set of table tennis table, net and some pingpang balls to Don Basco Technical School in the electorate of Lady Carol Kidu, Minister for Welfare and Social Development of the Government of Papua New Guinea. This set of table tennis table was specially ordered and shipped from Beijing to Port Moresby. Amb. Li, Lady Kidu, Rector Lenon, Principal Escala, media, and one third of 730 students of the school took part in the hand-over ceremony. Lady Kidu, and the school leaders all expressed their sincere gratitude to Amb. Li, and the Chinese government and people for the gift of the top quality table tennis table. They all said this showed the concern and friendship of the Chinese people to the youth of PNG. Amb. Li in his speech encouraged the students to study hard and learn the necessary knowledge as well as to take an active part in sport to keep fit in order to serve their people well after graduation. Amb. Li also briefed the audience about the achievements that China has made in sports, particularly in table tennis. He looked forward to more bilateral exchanges in sports and welcomed PNG athletes to attend the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

Amb. Li also played several demonstration games with Minister Kidu and the rector, the principal, and several students. Their plays were warmly applauded and gave laughter to all the participants.
